SHL Tournament 2010
Tournament Rules and Regulations
- This tournament shall be played under CHA. and G.T.H.L. Rules.NOTE: No centre ice off side in this tournament.
- Any team official or player who receives a game misconduct, gross misconduct, match penalty or game ejection shall not participate until their case has been dealt with by the discipline committee. Their decision shall be final.
- All teams will play a minimum three- (3) games. Games will be three (10) minute stop time periods. There will be a flood after every two games.
- The top two teams from each division advance to the Championship game.A win represents 2 points, a tie 1 point. In addition, One point will he awarded for each period, or 1/2 point for each period tied. In the event of a tie in the team standings at the conclusion, the order of standings will be decided as follows :
- i) The record against each other -
If still tied:
- ii) Add goals for to goals against and divide into goals for, the team with the
higher percentage will advance.
- In the games for the Championship, if tied at the end of regulation time:
- A) Will play ten minute sudden death overtime period, 4 players per team. The first team to score a goal
will be the winner. - B) If the teams remain tied at the end of the first overtime period there will be a 5 player shootout.
If still tied 5 different players will be selected for a shootout. Coach to supply referees with these lists.

- Each team shall have a suggested minimum of twelve players. Only currently carded team officials (manager, coaches, and trainer) will he allowed on the bench during games.
- Players must have and produce an approved C.H.A card or an A.H.A certificate
- All teams participating in the tournament shall be responsible for their own insurance coverage.
- All players including goal tenders must wear CSA approved helmets, face masks and neck protectors.
- It is the aim of the tournament to provide an opportunity for the players to participate in a tournament that will increase their skills and promote good sportsmanship.
- It is expected that coaches, managers, trainers and spectators will not create situations that are in opposition to this aim.
- ALL entry fees will be nonrefundable after Feb 15, 2010:
- The tournament Committee shall decide on any rule in question during this tournament. Their decision shall be final.
- All teams to be ready to play 15 minutes prior to scheduled game time.
- If a team has a 5 goal or greater lead in the third period, the clock will continue to run.
COACHES are asked to inform parents regarding the “No centre line off side” format for the tournament.
